A firm doesn’t get the opportunity to help build a community from the ground up very often. Abernathy Mixed-Use is just that. It's an infill development that is part of a master plan created by one of the leading planning firms in the country and the community they partnered with. The site is difficult due to its location and size. The project encompasses a mix of office, residential, retail and restaurant space. The difficulty in keeping multiple objectives in harmony can never be understated. The goals of the community, constraints of the site, project cost, architecture rising from a form-based code and the reality of a good return on the owner’s investment is what drives city building. Great projects are the result of these constraints. In our case, it's paramount to respond with a building that defines the street edge, creates activity along those edges and most importantly creates a sense of place. The community is developing into a walkable and desirable home for many while building upon the existing cultural landmarks that define their identity. Developing communities is an awesome responsibility and we’re proud to be a part of it. We're haven't derived the final solution yet, but we're working on it.  We feel great things are on the horizon and we're excited to see where our team takes us.
